Alden Ehrenreich (born November 22, 1989) is an American actor who is about to star as the younger incarnation of Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Ehrenreich began his acting career in 2003 by appearing in a short student film. One of the other actors in the film was the friend of the daughter of director Steven Spielberg. Spielberg saw the short movie and liked Ehrenreich, eventually helping him land his agent, which jumpstarted his professional acting career. (1)
Alden’s family is Jewish. By happenstance, his religious practice helped Ehrenreich in his acting career; it was at a friend’s bah mitzvah that Steven Spielberg attended and saw the short film which starred Alden.
Going back further, Ehrenreich’s ancestry is Hungarian, Russian, Austrian and Polish.
Absolutely zero, zilch, and nada to say about what sort of politics Alden leans towards. He doesn’t appear to be on any social media, or if he is, it isn’t under his birth name. The interviews with him also don’t mention anything about his beliefs in politics or social issues.
Is there a reason why, or is it that he’s just not been asked that question by the press yet?
Alden is an only child. He grew up in the upper-class neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, to a mother who is an interior designer, and a father who is an accountant. Ehrenreich’s parents eventually divorced, and Ehren’s mother then married an orthodontist.
An interesting Hollywood tidbit: Ehren got his first name from a friend of his parents, movie director Phil Alden Robinson.
He is currently dating Kelsey McNamee, an actress. They have been together since 2016.
