Charlie Day

Charlie Day is an American actor, comedian, and musician. He is well known for playing the role of Charlie Kelly on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.  As far as movies he’s also been in Horrible Bossess, Pacific Rim, and Fist Fight. He was born and raised in Middletown, Rhode Island. When he wasn’t playing baseball in school he was spending time in the theatre. He received an honorary doctorate in performing arts from Merrimack College.

Both of his parents were Christians and they raised him with the same beliefs. He is still a Christian today and consider his faith to be very important to him.

While Charlie doesn’t like to get involved in politics or share his view on current political events, it would appear that he leans more liberal. Although he holds his Christian values, we were unable to see if he carried that over to politics.

He enjoys watching sports, such as baseball, and is quite the musician. He actually helped write some of the songs for his character in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

He has been married to actress Mary Elizabeth Ellis since 2006. They dating before they became co-stars on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Together they have a boy named Russel who was born in December of 2011.

Random Facts

He was actually quite the baseball star and played at both the high school and college level. He played as a short stop for both levels. Charlie was also roommates with actor Jimmi Simpson for some time before getting reunited on the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Day is a talented musician and even has contributed his work to shows he has acted in. He is the producer of the TV shows, How to Be a Gentleman and Unsupervised.
