Dan Stevens is an English actor appearing in both television and movies. Stevens caught the attention of the mainstream when he starred as Matthew Crawley in the ensemble period drama Downton Abbey. Stevens appeared in three seasons and one Christmas special of Downton Abbey before departing the show. His star power went further skyward when he played the part of the monstrous Beast in Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast movie, released in 2017. At the present time Stevens plays the title role of psychic David Haller in FX’s Legion TV series.
Born on October 10, 1982 in Croydon, a suburb of London, England, Stevens’ middle name is Jonathan. His zodiac sign is Libra.
Dan has said in an interview that he and his brother (both adopted) have been raised in a faithful Christian family. He admits that he is fascinated with religion and questions about faith, but it’s unclear if he still holds his religious beliefs.
Stevens love writing and is a big fan of Cricket. He has narrated over 30 audio books.
Dan’s political views are unknown, but he has been quite vocal about his desire for Britain to not leave the European Union. He told Heat Street at the premiere of his new film The Ticket that “millions of lives [are] at risk”, if British people vote to leave. He later said that “I don’t think the interests of the British people are at the heart of the argument. It’s going to be just another television event that will put millions of lives at risk and some politicians somewhere will benefit. It’s pretty shameful.”
In 2009 Stevens married South African jazz singer and singing teacher Susie Hariet. They met in 2006, when appearing at different theaters in Sheffield. They have a daughter named Willow (born 2009) and a son named Aubrey (born 2012).
He was quite rebellious as a kid. Adopted at birth, Stevens grew to be a rebellious teenager and has confessed to never wanting to fit in. However, he was good at academics and even made for a brilliant performer — things that set him apart from others.
