Danica Patrick is a racing car driver. Born on March 25, 1982 in Beloit, Wisconsin, Danica is the most successful racing car driver in the history of the sport. Her success on the race track has transferred to Danica enjoying high profile sponsorships and spokesperson contracts. She has competed in both stock car circuit and the IndyCar circuit. Danica began racing when she was only 12; after competing in karting racing, she asked for her parents permission to drop out of her junior year of high school to pursue her dream of being a professional racer.
Danica’s astrological sign is Aries.
Before her marriage in 2005 to Paul Hospenthan, Danica converted to her fiancée’s religion and became a Roman Catholic. (1)
In 2018, Danica has spoke about her present day beliefs. On one hand, some of what she has said sounds like it could be based in new age spirituality, like her answer when she was asked to explain what is God:
“I believe it’s the highest level of vibration,” Danical answered in the interview. “Nothing negative can resonate at this vibrational level. It is pure love, positivity. It is a oneness presence that is eternal. It’s God consciousness, Christ consciousness. It’s source. It’s omnipresent. It’s not a dude on a throne in the clouds. It’s so much more than that. It’s everywhere all the time. That’s why God lives within you and everyone else, because we are all connected.” (2)
Later in the same interview, she expressed a point of view that sounded more agnostic (a person that is unsure whether there is a God.) “I’m not necessarily of any religion,” Patrick said. “I don’t believe in all of any of them. They all have good points. I could go to any religious ceremony and say that I learned something today, or I might dismiss it all. I’m not sure.”
Based on her most recent statements, we would place Danica Patrick into falling somewhere between an agnostic and an omnist (someone that recognizes qualities from all religions.)
While the race car driver may have said how she feels about religious matters, two years prior to her above comments Danica was shying away from talking about anything to do with her own spiritual or political allegiances. When asked how she felt personally about NASCAR president Brent Dewar backing then presidental candidate Donald Trump, she gave this answer.
“I feel like religion and politics are the two things that you just stay away from,” Patrick told Fox Business back in 2016. “I’m not going to comment about what I like or don’t like or what people say. But we live in America and it’s a free country and you can say whatever you want.” (3)
Patrick was married for 8 years to Paul Hospenthan, a physical therapist. The two met when Danica visited his office in 2002 to recover from an injury she sustained from yoga. The couple divorced in 2013.
In 2012 Danica began to date race car driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The two were a couple until the end of 2017.
In January 2018 Danica revealed that she had begun seeing Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback. (4)
Her middle name is Sue.
She suffers from migrane headaches. This makes her focus on eating as healthy as she can, and avoiding alcohol. (5)
She is a gym rat and works out frequently. Danica details her health and exercise plans in her book “Pretty Intense”.
