Giada De Laurentiis is an Italian-American chef, television personality and author. She studied at the prestigious culinary school Le Cordon Bleu and started her career as a food stylist. In 2003 she landed a Food Network show called Everyday Italian, followed by another show, Giada at Home, in 2008. Since then Giada has begun appearing as a co-host on the American morning show Today.
Born on August 22, 1970, in Rome, Italy, her middle name is Pamela. Her first name means “Jade” in Italian. Giada’s star sign is Leo.
While there is nothing on the record about her political leanings, Giada did donate to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign. We would assume that this indicates De Laurentiis privately leans towards a liberal ideology. (1)
Giada has made it a point to keep her personal politics out of the papers. When asked what kind of politician she prefers to make meals for, Giada deftly deflected the question like so: “Food is one thing we can all enjoy together,” she said. “Let’s keep the donkeys and elephants out of the kitchen, OK?” (2)
It is believed that Giada is Roman Catholic (3). She hasn’t been asked — or cared to comment — on matters of spirituality or religion by members of the press.
After 11 years of marriage, Giada and her husband Todd Thompson ended their marriage in 2015. They share a daughter, Jade, who was born in 2008.
During the marriage there were rumors of affairs that Giada had with other celebs like Bobby Flay and John Mayer. (4)
Giada is now seeing Shane Farley, a television producer. “After I got divorced, I spent about a year and a half alone, not dating, just figuring things out. I had been with Jade’s dad for 25 years. I didn’t know what it meant to not be married,” Giada said. “Once I got settled, [Shane and I] reconnected and I felt like a kid again.” (5)
