Gwen Stefani is an American singer best known for being the lead singer of the alt rock band No Doubt. In addition to fronting the band, Stefani is also a songwriter, music producer, and dabbled occasionally in acting. She has also ventured out on her own musically, releasing a solo album in 2004 titled Love. Angel. Music. Baby. Her best known tracks are with No Doubt and include “Hollaback Girl”, “Don’t Speak”, and “Just a Girl”.
Born on October 3, 1969, Stefani is a Libra. Her middle name is Renée, and her family background is Italian-America.
Gwen is a Roman Catholic and has been one all of her life.(1)
“I grew up, like, a Catholic good girl. Total Brady Bunch family,” she once related. “That always kind of scared me, the pressure of having to be so cool or like, fuck you to the world. But I kind of got over that and realized that, yes, I love to dress up and I love to wear makeup and be myself. I like being a girl; I like having a door opened for me; I like all that traditional stuff and I won’t deny it.”
There’s a crazy theory that Gwen’s popularity may have inadvertently helped Donald Trump become President of the United States.
The theory originates from documentary filmmaker Michael Moore who believes that when Trump learned that the paychecks Stefani was getting from NBC were bigger than his from making The Apprentice, Donald sought to get more money from his employer. “He was trying to pit NBC against another network, but it just went off the rails,” Moore explained (2).
NBC didn’t like the anti-immigration remarks that Trump was saying at the time, and they decided to end his contract with the network. When Donald was without his television show, he made the commitment to pursue running for the highest office in the land. No Stefani on The Voice making the big bucks, no President Trump.
Stefani has chosen to not state publicly her thoughts on politics. She was photographed posing with former President Barack Obama, but not endorsing him outright.
Stefani has been married once to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. Their union lasted for 14 years, from 2002 to 2016. The couple divorced citing irreconcilable differences. The couple share together three sons: Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. (3)
In 2015 Stefani began a romantic relationship with Blake Shelton, her co-star on the reality music performance TV series The Voice.
