Jennifer Lawrence was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 15, 1990. She was athletic and played sports in middle school and also modeled but didn’t have a passion for those things. She was nicknamed “Nitro” in middle school because she was so energetic and was always moving and was voted “Most Talkative” of her class.
Jennifer has never spoken out on what her religious beliefs are. She is from Louisville, Kentucky so it is probable that she comes from religious roots, but if that’s true it isn’t clear what that would be. She’s a fun-loving person who grew up in a family that would tend to everything themselves, even passing a visit to the doctor for Jennifer when she was hit by a car at 18. I would speculate just from their home life traditions that there’s some religion tied between them. Catholic or Southern Baptist is most likely because those are the predominant religions in Louisville.
Jennifer doesn’t make it clear what her political view is but she is probably Republican. She has made a negative statement about PETA which has gotten some liberals annoyed. In reference to a scene where she really did kill and gut a squirrel, she stated, “I should say it wasn’t real, for PETA, but screw PETA.” But she also could have just been the unfiltered, playful individual she is, and thrown an unintentional insult at PETA for fun. That and the theory of her being a form of Christian gives points to her affiliating with the Republican Party.
Jennifer loves to be with her dog while she’s home and walks him regularly in her neighborhood. She likes painting, knitting sweaters and scarves, and surfing. She also likes to play the guitar for her friends and family. Jennifer enjoys Reality TV shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Jennifer Lawrence is a Leo with fire as her dominant element. Her positive qualities are her energy, self-confidence, courage and enthusiasm. She’s very passionate and asserts her will-power to accomplish her goals and dreams, however she does lack the ability sometimes to step back and has a bold personality that can prompt her to do/say foolish things. The “PETA comment” is an example of her boldness turning into foolishness.
Cardio is a big part of J-Law’s workout plan as she does everything from running to hiking to dance classes. Another one of her favorite hobbies is jump rope. She also builds muscle with body weight squats, sit-ups, and push-ups all performed in a circuit at high intensity. It seems like on her off days she does yoga to let her body recover and increase her flexibility.
Jennifer is currently single after splitting from a four month relationship with Chris Martin and before that with Nicholas Hoult. Seems like she is back on the market for now.
It’s unclear where Jennifer stands on gay rights but it’s probably safe to say she supports them because she lightheartedly jokes with co-star Josh Hutcherson about him liking another male actor on the set. She doesn’t seem homophobic at all.
Her big break came when she was discovered by a photographer while she was on a trip to Manhattan. She was connected with an agent who had her do a cold-read and they told her mother, “it was the best cold read by a 14- year-old they had ever heard.” She begged her mother to stay in New York City for the summer as an agent urged her mother to do so. After allowing Jennifer to stay, J-Law continued to impress agents and appeared in commercials.
She also wanted to pursue an acting career and her mother said she could after she graduated high school. Seems like she took it seriously, as she graduated with a 3.9 GPA. Jen graduated 2 years early and her family decided to move to Los Angeles to give her a better opportunity to be noticed in the industry. She was cast on The Bill Engval Show in 2007 and since then she has slowly risen to the front page of every magazine cover across America.
She was ranked No. 1 on Askmen’s “Top 99 Most Desirable” list for women in 2013. Seems like she might continue to be on that list.
