Jim Parsons

Jim Parsons is an American actor best known for his role as Dr. Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. Parsons has won four primetime Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Emmys for playing Sheldon. He also performs in theater, most notably in a play titled The Normal Heart.

Jim is presently one of the highest paid actors on television. He earns $1 million dollars per episode of The Big Bang Theory.

Jim Parsons Relationships

Parsons was reserved about publicly mentioning his romantic life until a casual mention in 2012 by The New York Times revealed that he is gay and in a ten-year relationship (1). It has since been revealed that Parsons’ partner is graphic designer Todd Spiewak. The two officially married in New York City in May 2017.

“I’ve never considered my relationship with Todd to be an act of activism. Rather simply, it’s an act of love, coffee in the morning, going to work, washing the clothes, taking the dogs [out]—a regular life, boring love,” Jim said at a 2013 awards event (2).

Parsons’ father passed away in 2001 from a car crash. Jim’s mother is a former school teacher, and he also has a sister who is a teacher.

Jim Parsons Politics

We didn’t find anything that pins Jim to a particular political group but he is keenly interested in political commentary. In 2017 he launched a radio talk show called Jim Parsons is Too Stupid to Talk Politics. In the Sirius XM show, Parsons talks about various political organizations, both international and American, with guests that are experts in their field.

Jim Parsons Christianity Controversy

In 2015 Parsons began acting in the Broadway play An Act of God. Jim played the role of God in a comedic light, capable of making silly mistakes. This drew the ire of some religious conservatives who found the depiction of God in the play offensive (3).

Jim Parsons Hobbies & Interests

Jim seems to be a private guy. The only information we could turn up about what he likes to do in his off-time is play darts and watch baseball and basketball games.
