Jimmy Fallon is an American TV host, actor, writer and comedian. He dropped out of college just one semester from graduating to move to LA and pursue his career in comedy. As many artists he started working with improv. Later he started trying to join the Saturday Night Live cast, finally getting it in 1998. Currently he’s most known for being the show host for his very own The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Fallon was raised in a strict Catholic family and would frequently go to church. He was an altar boy for his church and seriously considered becoming a priest. He tried to go back to Catholic church as an adult but he thought the experience to be too different from when he was younger. It would seem his beliefs remain to an extent, but just that he isn’t ready for institutionalized religion anymore.
Jimmy’s known for his musical inclinations, with popular performances in his own show and others like Lip Syncing Battle. One of the most famous is his History of Rap with Justin Timberlake.
The comedian makes his political leanings clear with a history of making sketches mocking Republicans and at most making lighthearted comments about Democrats. He explicitly endorsed Obama in previous elections and has had Hillary Clinton as a guest in his TV show. As for Trump, Fallon has made sketches parodying the candidate’s speeches.
Since 2007 he’s been married to producer Nancy Juvonen, with whom he had two kids together, both born by gestational surrogacy, one in 2013 and the second in 2014.
In June 2015 Fallon had a ring avulsion, caused by tripping over a rug while at home and catching his ring on a counter top, nearly tearing his finger off. He was quickly taken to an ER and then sent for microsurgery on his finger. This was followed by another 10 days in the ICU. He spent almost three months with a bandaged finger, which can be seen in a number of episodes from his show.
