John Krasinski

John Krasinski is an American actor, director and filmmaker. His alma mater is Brown University where he graduated with a degree in theatrical arts. He started acting when he was in sixth grade, playing Daddy Warbucks in Annie. He is widely known for NBC’s sitcom The Office, and has also played roles in Away We Go, Aloha, Leatherheads, Something Borrowed, Big Miracle, License to Wed, Promised Land and Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.

John Krasinski Religion

John and his brothers, Paul and Kevin, were born from Roman Catholic parents. His upbringing was in the Catholic faith and it played an important part in John’s early years, especially in his thoughts about marriage:

“I actually grew up Catholic, so I know all about it — they try to get you to understand that marriage isn’t just this little thing you can offer someone as a gift,” Krasinski said in a 2006 interview. (1)

However, it’s unclear if John still practices the Catholic faith. Some sources have even quoted him as now being non-religious.

John Krasinski Political Views

John has never publicly declared his political affiliation. When Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi created conflicts among politicians, John pointed out that Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz or even Hillary Clinton should not use the movie to score political points. He went ahead and said the purpose of the movie was to acknowledge the soldiers who lost their lives in Benghazi as heroes.

John Krasinski Hobbies

Besides acting, John likes hanging with friends, reading, listening to music, watching movies and playing baseball and basketball. During his days in college, he coached Gordon School’s Youth Basketball team in Rhode Island.

Relationships & Marriage

Unlike many Hollywood actors, John has been able to maintain his relationship with fellow actor Emily Blunt for quite some time now. The two dated for a while, got engaged in 2009 and eventually tied the knot in 2010.

With Emily, John has two beautiful daughters, Hazel (born 2014) and Violet (born 2016). John’s former girlfriends are actresses Rashida Jones and Renée Zellweger.

Random Facts

John does modeling when he’s not acting. Growing up, he wanted to be an English teacher, but the odds led him to the acting career. His famous friends are Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson. The parents of his character (Ben) in License to Wed were actually his real life parents. He was one of the actors that was selected by Marvel to play Steve Rogers/Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger.
