Katherine Heigl is an American actress, former fashion model, and current film producer. She is famously known for her roles in Grey’s Anatomy (2005-) and State of Affairs (2014-2015). Katherine has been a profound actor and taken a lead role in the movies The Nut Job, 27 Dresses, Life as we Know It, and many others. She was born in Washington, DC on November 24th, 1978. Her mother was a personnel manager and her father an accountant. Katherine is the last born in a family of four siblings. Her family moved to New Canaan, a small town in Connecticut, where she spent the better part of her upbringing.
Kathrine’s parents hail from different religious backgrounds, her father was a Catholic while her mother was a Lutheran. However the parents later converted to the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, also known as the Mormon church. This was where Katherine grew her faith. She still admits to being a believer of Mormonism, but doesn’t practice her faith since it would contradict with her lifestyle.
Though she admitted not to like politics, she is however an avid Obama supporter. This makes her a possible Democrat. She also is a big LGBT supporter and animal rights activist which would also suggest this theory.
Since a child, Katherine has enjoyed acting and modeling. In her blog, she describes her hobbies as keeping pets and doing advocacy work with animals.
Katherine is married to songwriter Josh Kelley. Together the couple has adopted two daughters. The couple is expecting their first son in late 2016 or early 2017.
Due to her work and dedication to animal welfare Kathrine was honored with the ‘Presidential Service Award’ by the ASPCA. She is also a strong supporter of organ donation and works as a spokesperson for Donate Life America. She is also a supporter of Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
