Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves is an American-Canadian actor, musician, and producer. He was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He is well known for his role in movies like The Matrix series, Point Break, John Wick, and Speed. Keanu began acting at the age of 9 and performed in his theatre production the Damn Yankees. The Bill and Ted franchise is where he gained a lot of attention, eventually leading him to land a role on Point Break (1991). Bigger hits followed with meaty roles in Speed (1994), The Matrix (1999), and John Wick (2014).

Born on September 2, 1964 in Beiruit, Lebanon, his zodiac sign is Virgo. His middle name is Charles, and he holds British and Canadian citizenship.

By his actions, it can be assumed that Reeves is liberal. Reeves set up a cancer charity and decided not to attach his name to it, presumably to keep out of the limelight for it. He has also supported PETA, the SickKids Foundation and Stand Up To Cancer. Not surprising either, as his his sister Kim has sadly battled leukemia for more than a decade. What’s more, Reeves is known for giving over $75 million to people he worked with on the first set of the first Matrix movie, because he felt they deserved it. Keanu also heard about some financial trouble a set designer was having, and gave him a $20,000 Christmas bonus to help him out.

He is a big fan of riding motorcycles. One lesser known hobby of his is ballroom dancing. Reeves also loves watching football and hockey and enjoys playing soccer, riding horses, and going surfing.

According to Keanu, he is neither a Buddhist nor an Atheist, despite what many people think about him. It could be assumed that he is agnostic, especially when we consider that he said that he was “…very spiritual … Supremely spiritual … Bountifully spiritual!”.

An educated guess from this is that Reeves, just like his maverick cop role in Point Break, prefers not to label himself as a member of one faith or the other, instead preferring to keep things personal and ambiguous. What we do know is that Reeves spent a short amount of time in a Catholic school, and has made some comments about the afterlife which is why we imply that he might be agnostic rather than an atheist.

Keanu Reeves – His Relationships

Keanu is presently seeing Alexandra Grant, a visual artist. The couple went public with their romance in October 2019 after knowing each other for 10 years, and collaborating on business projects together.

From 1998 to 2000, Keanu was in a relationship with Jennifer Syme. The couple had been expecting a child but tragedy stuck when she arrived stillborn. Keanu and Jennifer named their daughter Ava Archer Syme-Reeves. The death of their daughter put tremendous strain on their relationship and the couple broke up shortly after.

On April 2, 2001, Jennifer Syme had a fatal traffic accident. Reeves had been about to begin filming on two Matrix sequels when he learned of his ex-girlfriend’s passing. He required personal time to grieve before heading to Australia to begin shooting the films.

Random Facts

In 1995 he won the award by People magazine as one top 50 Beautiful People in the World. At one point he was actually the owner of a pasta shop in Canada. For his role in the movie, The Matrix Reloaded (2003), he had to learn over 200 martial arts moves.
