Kelly Ripa is an American daytime talk show host, an actress, and a television producer. Since 2001 Ripa has been the co-host of Live!, a New York City-based morning talk show that has been on the air since 1983. Prior to working on Live!, Kelly got her break as an actress on the daytime television soap All My Children in 1990. She exited the soap in 2002, one year after securing her co-host job with Regis Philbin on Live!
Born on October 2, 1970 in Stratford, New Jersey, Kelly’s zodiac sign is Libra. Her middle name is Maria.
Ripa is a Catholic. She was brought up in the faith by her parents and when she married Mark Consuelos she remained in the faith.
“We grew up Catholic,” she once said in an interview. “We’ve both found it a stabilizing force, a source of strength and comfort in our lives.” Kelly also added that she prays before going to bed every night, but doesn’t always attend church every Sunday. (1)
We strongly suspect that Ripa is a Democrat based on her family. Kelly father is Joe Ripa, a veteran Democrat living in Camden County, New Jersey, and currently serves as the County Clerk. (2) Kelly helped campaign for her father, as well as raise funds for his reelections. (3)
Ten years before he became President of the United States, Ripa told a visiting Donald Trump that he should not run for the country’s highest office.
“I remember actively having this conversation with him,” she explained. “I said, ‘But why would you want to do that? Why would you want to give up your life, which is so good?’ You’re not going to be able to go to Florida anymore. You’re not going to be able to golf every weekend.'”
But, Ripa was fast to correct her mistake. “And I was wrong! You can do that!” (4)
On the Halloween 2016 episode of her talk show Kelly dressed up in costume as President-elect Trump, as well as Melania Trump. (5)
Kelly married Mark Consuelos, an actor she met while working on All My Children, on May 1, 1996 in Las Vegas when they eloped.
The couple have three children: Michael (born 1997), Lola (born 2001) and Joaquin (born 2003).
