Kevin James

Kevin James or Kevin George Knipfing is an American actor, comedian, and producer. He is mostly known from his role as Doug on The King Of Queens (1998-2007). Some other big movies he has been in are Paul Blart: Mall Cop (1&2), Grownups (1&2), and Hitch. He was born and raised in New York and spent his childhood living in Stony Brook. He wrestled in high school and held the number one spot. A back injury caused him to end his season, giving up the spot to Mick Foley (a WWE wrestler). Kevin graduated and attended State University of New York at Cortland, where he played football. His back got injured again, causing him to end his football career as well. This led to him performing comedy and eventually landed some guest appearances on Everybody Loves Raymond. As a result, he decided he would make his own sitcom, The King of Queens, which became very successful.

Kevin is Catholic. He was born and raised Catholic and says he still practices the religion today. “I am involved in my faith, it becomes more and more — you know, it becomes a difficult, difficult position. You have a platform and you don’t want to do anything that doesn’t glorify God in every way”. He finds it’s difficult to still talk about his religious views in the movie industry, but he is still a proud Catholic.

Some of his hobbies include comedy, and watching football. Although his football career was cut short due to a back injury, he still very much enjoys football.
