Krysten Ritter is an American actress, musician, former model and an author. Ritter is known for her roles as Jane Margolis on the AMC drama series Breaking Bad, and Jessica Jones in the Netflix series of the same name.
She was born on December 16, 1981 and is a Sagittarius.
Ritter is a registered Independent, probably because she thinks it’s cool to be open-minded, but she’s not voting for any Republicans. She endorsed John Kerry in 2004 and when he lost to George W. Bush. She took the Democrats’ side again in 2008, endorsing Barack Obama and even went on a small speaking tour on his behalf.
She hasn’t talked politics since the Democrats lost the White House in 2016. Instead, Ritter is keeping her campaigning to raising the profile of women’s rights:
Ritter was scouted by a modeling agent at her local shopping mall, the Wyoming Valley Mall, at the age of 15. Krysten described herself at the time as “tall, gawky, awkward, and really, really skinny.” (1)
Ritter’s acting career began when Wilhelmina placed her for an audition for a Dr. Pepper television commercial. She sings and plays guitar in a band called Ex Vivian. She also promotes animal rights and posed for a 2013 PETA ad campaign warning pet owners of the dangers of leaving dogs in cars during the summer.
Krysten is a Jewish girl, born and raised. Her father is Danish, not Jewish, but her mother is a Jew and Krysten seems to identify more with her Jewish side, even though she celebrates both Christmas and Hanakkuh.
There’s a sense that religion either isn’t a big deal to Ritter or she’s very private about it, which tends to be her attitude towards much of her life.
Krysten was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Kathi Taylor and Gary Ritter.
She was raised on a farm outside Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, where her mother, stepfather and sister live; her father lives in nearby Benton.
Ritter graduated in 2000 from Northwest Area High School.
Krysten has ADHD. She was diagnosed in first grade, and has been on medication ever since.
In addition to her high profile job as a Marvel superhero on television, Krysten is now a published author. Her first book is a thriller called Bonfire that was release in November 2017.
