Maye Musk is a Canadian-born, raised in South Africa fashion model and dietician. She is the mother of Elon Musk, the tech entrepreneur behind SpaceX and Tesla. Currently Maye is a spokesperson and model for the Cover Girl makeup brand, as well as the oldest model employed by the brand.
Born on April 19, 1948 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, her zodiac sign is Aries.
We found no mention of Maye Musk being religious in any way. In all accounts of her raising her three children as a single mother there wasn’t one mention of going to church or saying prayers.
Elon Musk has said that he isn’t religious, so it’s not too much of a stretch to assume that he was raised by his mother to be agnostic or atheist. That would also make Maye atheist or agnostic as well.
Maye has a twin sister named Faye.
In 1970 she married Errol Musk, a South African engineer. They had three children together: son Elon (born 1971), son Kimbal (born 1972) and daughter Tosca (born 1974).
In 1979 Maye and Errol divorced. Maye then raised the children by herself, earning money working as many as five jobs. They grow up knowing you work hard, and the harder you work, the better you do and the luckier you get,” Maye Musk once said. “They also had to be responsible for themselves, because they had to help me.” (1)
Maye grew up in South Africa when her parents moved there when she was age of two. Her parents frequently traveled around the world and also fashioned themselves as explorers, including spending ten years searching for the Lost City of the Kalahari Desert.
Her maiden surname was Haldeman.
Musk has been working on and off as a model for five decades, including jobs when she was a single mother to her three children.
Because of the fame that her eldest son Elon has accomplished, Maye’s modeling career has been reinvigorated. “I’m living proof that [you can] find work for an older woman . . . I’ve never worked so much as I do now,” she’s said. (1)
