Meghan Trainor is a Grammy Award winning American singer/songwriter well known for the single, “All About That Bass.” Born Meghan Elizabeth Trainor, she was raised in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She was heavily influenced by the music of the 1950’s and 60’s. Her first studio album, released in 2015, was largely inspired by those decades as well. She began singing at the age of six.
She was born and raised a Christian and still is today. She grew up attending the Methodist Church with her parents. Her father played the organ there and that’s where she began her singing career.
As a child, Trainor learned many instruments in addition to her love of singing. She played the trumpet in a Jazz band, played guitar, played piano and even the bongos. She also enjoys songwriting and producing music.
While sometimes referred to as “America’s Sweetheart”, Meghan Trainor has no desire to be involved in the nation’s politics. When asked about Clinton or Trump, she insinuated she would vote for Clinton, then expressed that she didn’t plan on voting and never had.
After a makeout session with Charlie Puth at the 2015 American Music Awards, rumors ran rampant about a romantic connection, however the two insisted they were just friends. Rumored to be dating Nick Jonas’ assistant, Cory Anderson, Meghan Trainor insisted she is still single and looking “for a nice guy.”
Meghan Trainor pitched her first single, “All About That Bass” to Beyonce, but she passed.
Meghan’s own mother thinks “All About That Bass” is annoying.
Her hair naturally changed colors from black as a baby, through brown and red, and eventually to blonde.
