Melissa McCarthy is a comedian and actress born on August 26th, 1970. After working as a standup comedian in New York City, she later moved to Los Angeles. In addition to that, she is a major Hollywood star who is predominantly in comedic films such as Tammy, Heat, spy and St. Vincent. She spent nine years on the stage performing improvisation before she started making films.
Raised in a big, Irish-Catholic family, Melissa had a traditional Catholic upbringing. This has led to her remaining a Catholic. She is a big believer of positive thinking and believes that this and her faith has led to her success. She has said, “I believe it matters how you treat people. I believe in Heaven.”.
Melissa leans more progressive when it comes to politics. She supports gay marriage and people within the LGBT community. She appears to be a registered Democrat based on her progressive political views. More recently she was seen with Hillary Clinton at the premiere of the remake of Ghost Busters. In 2017, she appeared on Saturday Night Live to do a skit, making fun of Trump’s press secretary.
Some hobbies of Melissa include sleeping, playing tennis, and home renovation. She is a big fan of NBC dramas, and she likes watching Downtown Abby. McCarthy is also known for visiting various places so as to perfect her roles in films. She’s not much of a fan of social media and would much rather talk to people in person.
McCarthy married her long time boyfriend, Ben Falcone on October 8th, 2005. Their first child, Vivian was born on May 5th, 2007. After that, McCarthy gave birth to Georgette, on March 22nd, 2010. Both McCarthy and her family live in Los Angeles. This is also where they have created the Melissa McCarthy clothing line.
She doesn’t mess around when it comes to acting. After giving birth to her daughter Vivian, she returned to work only 3 months later to start filming Samantha Who? (2007). She did the same with her next child and came back to work only 4 months after having her.
