Michael Fassbender is an Irish-German actor. His first feature film was in the film, 300. Before that he had roles in shows like Band of Brothers, Sky One, and Hex. In 2008 he landed a roll in Hunger which landed him a British Independent Film Award. Later in 2011, he got the role of Magneto in X-Men: First Class. This continued in 2014 with Men: Days of Future Past and with X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
He was raised Catholic and served as an altar boy at his church. The secondary school he went to made him the head altar boy for 12 years. After experiencing more of life, Fassbender claims Catholicism has, ‘too many condradictions.’ He is no longer a practicing Catholic.
Michael loves go-karting. He says, “In terms of a hobby, that’s my favorite thing to do.” He tried jet-skiing in Mexico on a holiday but ‘turned the thing upside down.’
Fassbender had this to say about President Elect Donald Trump, “I think people are angry and that’s why Trump got such a huge following. They feel disenfranchised and this is their way to strike back. But is he the answer they are looking for? Feels to me like he’s someone who got us into this mess in the first place, with the bankers and so on – he’s just part of the problem.” There’s not much known about which party he’s affiliated with. He may be a Democrat or Republican dissatisfied with our future president.
Fassbender is currently dating Alicia Vikander, a Swedish actress. They met by working on the set of Light Between Oceans.
