Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps is an American Olympic swimmer. As of 2016, he has won a total of 28 medals as well as numerous awards and recognition. One such title was winning the World Swimmer of the Year Award and FINA Swimmer of the Year award.  In the recent Olympics in Brazil, he broke the record for most individual total Gold medals won with 23.

Although he was born a Christian, Phelps’s states that he isn’t very religious, although he does believe in God. This would make him more of an Agnostic.

During his free time, Phelps enjoys good old American games such as baseball or football. He also love to spend time with friends and family, as well as kicking some butt on video games.

In 2007, Phelps met former Miss California USA Nicole Johnson at an ESPN Award show. They were dating for a few years, only to break up in 2012. However, they got back together and were engaged in February 2015. In May 2016, their first child was born, Boomer Robert Phelps .

Phelps has a history of driving under the influence of alcohol. One was in 2004, where he was sentenced to do 18 months of community service. His second drunk driving offence was in 2014 which led him to be suspended from all swimming competitions for the next six months. He has been mature about the situation, owning up to each offense, and serving his time.

He was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, and used swimming as a way to deal with his extra energy.
