Mika Brzezinski

Mika Brzezinski is an American political news commentator and newshost. She is the current co-host of Morning Joe on MSNBC.

Born in New York City on May 2, 1967, her middle names are Emilie Leonia. Her zodiac sign is Taurus.

Mika Brzezinski – Her Religion

Mika is a Catholic.

“I appreciate the rules, but also the forgiveness. Although the rules are so controversial to so many people, through them the religion challenges us to be the best that humanity can offer — to really love thy neighbor, and to try to be Christlike in every decision. For example, in 2012 Brzezinski debated on her talk show about the government’s birth control mandate. The law enforced employers — including religious institutions — to pay the costs of birth control under employee medical plans.

When asked by Al Sharpton if contraception was forbidden to Catholics, Brzezinski replied, “Absolutely. It’s black and white; it’s what they believe to be true. I hate to get into some language here that can be, you know, seen as extreme, but they believe that abortion is murder, and they believe it as a fact.” (2)

She is a Democrat with moderate feelings towards being liberal minded. In the past Mika has been critical of Democratic leaders on her show.

As recently as 2016 Mika told her audience what party her political allegiance lies with. “I’m sorry that I’m a Democrat and it means nothing coming from me, but I’m telling you, that’s how this story ends and someone’s going to get hurt,” Brzezinski told her audience on Morning Joe, speaking critically of President Trump. On an earlier occasion, she said, “I mean, just because I’m a Democrat doesn’t mean that I can’t ask the legitimate questions about the Joe Sestak story, which is unbelievable to me that others don’t see. There’s a question here, a question that needs to be answered and that we’re not getting the answers to. And just because I’m a Democrat doesn’t mean I trust everybody involved.” (4)

Mika has also been the subject of personal attacks by President Trump via Twitter. In June 2017 Trump took to social media to say this:

Trump’s tweets prompted this response from Mika on MSNBC: “My family brought me up really tough. This is absolutely nothing for me personally. But I am very concerned about what this once again reveals about the president of the United States. It’s strange.”

Mika Brzezinski – Her Relationships

Mika married James Hoffer, a television news reporter, in 1993. They had two daughters, Emilie and Carlie. The couple divorced in 2016. (5)
