    Phil Collins – His Religion

Contrary to multiple reports that exist online, there is nothing to prove that Phil Collins is or isn’t religious. There’s no quote associated with him speaking about any personal religious beliefs that he might or might not have.

What is known is that Collins is a member of the Masonic Temple. (1)

Freemasons are members of a Masonic Temple. Masons can hold a spiritual belief in a supreme being, and many do, but religious talk is not permitted at most lodges. (2)

Masons should be people of good character in their community.

    Phil Collins – His Politics

Collins claims to be not greatly interested in politics. In an infamous 1992 interview with Piers Anthony, Phil was quoted in an English paper saying that if the Labour Party won the 1992 election and raised taxes he would consider leaving the country.

“I remember getting letters from nurses saying, ‘That’s it, I’m not buying any more of your records,’” Collins recalls. “I didn’t mean it the way it came out.” (3)

Collins claims that he doesn’t think too much about politics. He hasn’t voted in most U.K. elections. “And that’s not something I’m proud of. I was just so busy that I rarely was here.” (3)

    Phil Collins – His Relationships

Phil has been married three times, and is the father of five children.

His first marriage was with Andrea Bertorelli from 1975 to 1980. They had one son together, Simon (born 1976). Collins legally adopted Andrea’s daughter Joely whom she had from an earlier union.

In 1984 Phil married Jill Taverland. In 1989 they welcomed daughter Lily Collins into the world. Phil and Jill divorced in 1996.

Collins married his third wife, Orianne Cevey, in 1999. Even after having two sons (named Nicholas and Matthew) with Orianne, the couple ended their union in 2008. However, in late 2016 Collins told the press that he had rekindled his relationship with his ex-wife and the two were living together. (4)

When asked about his multiple marriages, Phil Collins said this: “Would I do anything different? I don’t think I would, no. And I sympathize with my older children — my two oldest, Simon and Joely — that when I say I wouldn’t do anything different, Joely said to me, ‘Does that mean you wouldn’t have tried harder with Mum or what?’ But then if that had happened, then I wouldn’t have Nicholas and Matthew.” (5)
