Rob Corddry is an American actor, comedian and writer. He worked as a correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (2002-2006) and starred in Hot Tub Time Machine (2010). He was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, went to Weymouth North High School and then to UMass Amherst, where he graduated in 1993. The following year he moved to NYC where he started working as a security guard at the Met and handing out menus for a Mexican restaurant before he was able to land his first work as an actor. Alongside the initial acting he also trained improv. He’s currently part of the TV show Ballers (2015-) and will be part of Shimmer Lake (2016) and Office Christmas Party (2016).
The comedian hasn’t talked much about his religion over the years. But it seems like he doesn’t subscribe to any traditional religious institution considering he got ordained in the Universal Life Church Monastery to be able to perform a wedding for a couple of friends.
Rob picks up hobbies very easily, ranging from collecting gadgets like the Apple Watch to the more traditional vinyl records.
Rob is an Eagle Scout from a Weymouth troop. Besides that small tidbit though, Rob isn’t known to discuss politics publicly. But it is fair to assume from his history as a Daily Show correpondent that he leans more as a liberal than a conservative.
Rob married Sandra Corddry in 2002. Sandra appeared alongside the actor in January 2006 on the Daily Show, a few months before they had their first daughter, Sloane Sullivan Corddry, born in July 2006. Two years later, in November 2008, they had their second daughter, Marlo Stevenson Corddry.
A piece on the Daily Show about Boston made Corddry reconnect with an old junior high bully. “She admitted that she had a crush on me. She was a tough chick, and I was not a tough dude.”
