Sonequa Martin-Green is an American actress and producer. She is most well known for her role as Sasha in AMC’s hit show The Walking Dead. Beginning in September 2017, Sonequa appears as the main character on the new Star Trek television series Star Trek: Discovery. She originally pursued a degree in psychology until 10th grade, when she realized her calling of acting and decided to pursue that instead. Born and raised in Alabama, she eventually moved to New York city where she would meet her husband.
Between her Twitter account and her various biographies and interviews, Sonequa Martin-Green does an excellent job of staying non-political. Her tweets on Jerusalem’s Muslim Temple Mount as well as what appears to be her faith background may suggest slightly more conservative leanings, but at the same time she posted a picture on Instagram thanking President Obama while avoiding mention of President Trump. This information may suggest that Sonequa may be a political moderate, but it’s hard to say for sure.
Very family-oriented as can be seen on her Instagram, Sonequa’s hobbies appear to include spending time with her husband and child, cooking, and enjoying life with family and friends.
Sonequa hasn’t been too public about her religion, but it would seem she might either be spiritual or religious. In an article on Christianity Daily, she was quoted saying that her experience with motherhood was “divine”. She has also tweeted “Voices for Israel: The Sea of Galilee… Jesus walked on these waters…#VisitIsrael @SeaofGalilee”. This was to show her participation in the cause and also would suggest she might be Christian or at least a believer in Jesus.
Ms. Martin-Green is currently married. She got married to Kenric Green on December 4, 2010. They have one child together.
Sonequa’s husband is also an actor. The couple met while acting in a play and they acted together in The Walking Dead. Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese and her favorite music to listen to is Rock.
