Tom Holland

Tom Holland is an English actor. He is well known for playing Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film series. He has also appeared in the movie The Impossible (2012). Before that he had a role in Billy Elliot the Musical.  He attended school at a Roman Catholic prep school until later attending Wimbledon College. In December of 2012 he enrolled in the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology.

Tom is Roman Catholic. He attended two Roman Catholic schools before going to college. Both of his parents were Catholic as well. It appears that he still holds his faith today.

His hobbies include dancing, football, and gymnastics. His favorite movie is Saving Private Ryan and his favorite football team is the Arsenal Football Club. He’s very talented with acrobatics and can do all sorts of flips and jumps. This was a big reason that he was cast to play the role of the latest Spider-Man.

Holland hasn’t talked much about politics. Being he’s from London, he hasn’t had much to say on American politics. It appears he might lean more Conservative based on his background but until he’s interviewed or talks about it, we aren’t able to confirm his political beliefs.

Shortly after the release of Avengers: Endgame, Holland was asked if he believed the character of Peter Parker / Spider-Man could ever be presented outside of being hetrosexual. Holland responded that he didn’t see any issue with it.

“I can’t talk about the future of the character because honestly I don’t know and it’s out of my hands. But I do know a lot about the future of Marvel, and they are going to be representing lots of different people in the next few years,” the actor said, before adding, “The world isn’t as simple as a straight white guy. It doesn’t end there, and these films need to represent more than one type of person.” (3)

In 2016 Tom was dating Elle Lotherington. The pair had known each other since high school. They broke up in 2017 and if Tom has had a girlfriend since then it hasn’t come out.

Random Facts

Tom beat out a lot of talented actors for the role of Spider-Man. A big reason he got the part was due to his impressive acrobatic skills. Another interesting thing about him getting cast is that this is the first time that Spider-Man will be played by a teenager. This might make it more authentic as Spider-Man is suppose to be a teenager.
