He is mostly known for his roles on Prison Break and The Dark Night. He’s currently filming for Stranded, a movie about an investigative journalist.
The actor doesn’t speak much about his religious beliefs. His European roots may indicate he’s either a nonpracticing Christian or simply an atheist.
Fichtner is a big fan of football, especially the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. He’s been in an ad for the team in 2014 and narrated an ESPN documentary about the team’s appearances in the Super Bowl from 1990 to 1993.
Although graduating in criminal justice, the actor doesn’t talk much about politics publicly. As of June 2014, he’s been living in the Czech Republic so it’s possible for the time being he’s not too concerned with American politics.
Fichtner currently has a relationship with former actress Kymberly Kalil. Apparently the couple got married right after they started dating in the year 1998 and have been going strong since.
His sister is a major in the Airforce. The ring that he constantly wears was given to him by his grandfather. With a German surname, the actor has a rich European background. His ancestry includes German, Irish, English and more distantly, Dutch.
The Fichtners have descendants spread through a number of German speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) as well as Canada and the USA, after helping colonize North America in the 18th century.
