Khaled Mohamed Khaled, better known by his producer name “DJ Khaled” was born on November 26th, 1975 in New Orleans, Lousiana. He is one of the top successful beat-makers for hip hop today and has been over the last 12 years of his career. Khaled is first and foremost a DJ and beatmaker who admits to using a team of artists to help him record. He is also a producer who arranges the songs and has even published several books. He released in 2006 his debut album called Listennn. He went on to release We the Best in 2007, We Global 2008, Victory 2010 and the albums he’s made since then.
Khaled is a devout Muslim and has been since birth. His parents immigrated to the United States when he was a child and now he continues his faith openly and proudly.
He doesn’t say much about politics but he was a big supporter of Obama during his office. The DJ has also come out firmly against Trump’s proposed “anti-Muslim” bill.
Khaled loves music, especially ‘Oldies’. His favorite song is ‘Sexual Healing’ by Marvin Gaye. He loves hamming it up on Snapchat with his baby boy, Ashad Khaled. He also likes to travel with his career and see the world. One of his favorite places is Jamaica where he has befriended the Marley family.
Khaled is engaged to Nicole Tuck. The two recently had Ashad together.
When Khaled had his first gig in New Orleans in 1993, Cash Money Records founders, Baby and Slim introduced Khaled to a 10 year old Dwayne Carter Jr. known today as Lil Wayne. Khaled used to be in the hip hip group, Terror Squad with Big Pun and Fat Joe until BigPun passed away. His producer/DJ handle used to be “Arab Attack,” but he changed his name to DJ Khaled after the 9/11 attacks. He says he wants to spread positivity and love without bringing up the pain of such a tragedy.
