Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States of America, a businessman and a former reality television show personality. Trump is a second-generation entrepreneur and billionaire, making his fortune from real estate holdings and deals starting in the 1980s. In the 2000s he moved his personal brand into reality television by starring in the NBC series The Apprentice.
In 2015 Trump announced that he would run for leadership of the Republican party, which he eventually won. Trump was the Republican candidate in the 2016 Presidental election, winning over his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton by 304 electoral votes to her 227. Since stepping into office Trump has proven to be a controversial president, with many vocal detractors and supporters.
According to statements made by Donald Trump, he is a Presbyterian Christian (1). It appears that he has become more religious, or talks about it more, now that he President and a publicly announced Republican. Whether this is a political move or actually what he believes in is uncertain. An example of this is that he previously was pro choice but more recently has stated that he is now pro life. Trump also refers to the Bible as his favorite book but also declines to say what his favorite scripture or passage is (2).
Donald is an avid golfer and actually owns his own course in Los Angeles called “Trump National Golf Club.” He loves all sports and was always the captain of his high school teams. He was even the manager of a professional football team in the USFL league. Trump also is a big fan of McDonald’s, especially during his campaigning.
Donald Trump is the current leader of the Republican party. This means that he is a conservative and holds similar values. Previously it has been reported that Donald Trump was more liberal and blamed for economic collapse on republican president George Bush (3) . People have been skeptical of whether or not he is a true Republican but he seems to be fitting the mold of a conservative.
Donald Trump uses golf as his main form of exercise. He avoids alcohol, tobacco, and even coffee (4). He lost his brother to alcoholism and had learned about the dangers of drugs and alcohol from his brother. This is the reason he says he never drinks. However, Trump did introduce a line of Vodka in 2006 called Trump Vodka (5). According to his doctors, he appears to be in great health with all tests coming back negative. Trump boasts about his stamina and health; in the months leading up to his election win, Donald Trump’s doctor said that he will be the healthiest president ever (6).

Trump gets his exercise by taking a long walk or playing a round of golf. He says some people don’t think of it as a workout but he frequently loses three or four pounds after a weekend of golfing.

Trump’s first marriage was to Ivana Zelníčková who took his last name upon marriage. Ivana was a Czech model who followed in her husband’s footsteps, entering into business with skin and beauty products. The couple marred in 1977 and divorced in 1992. They have three children: Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric.
Trump married a second time in 1993 to Marla Maples, a model. That union produced a daughter, Tiffany. The pair divorced in 1999.
A year into his presidency reports surfaced that Trump had had numerous extramarital affairs. A $130,000 payment was made to adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep her silence about such an affair. Karen McDougal, a Playboy playmate, also alleges that she had a long standing relationship with Trump while he was married to his third wife.
Trump seems to give mixed messages when it comes to gay marriage. He has stated that he is against it, but since the Supreme Court ruled it legal he has become more flexible with his beliefs. He also confided in George Takei that he attended a same-sex marriage and found it “beautiful.” (9)
He has never smoked cigarettes, drank alcohol or done drugs. His older brother, Fred, was an alcoholic for many years and warned Trump to avoid drinking. Fred ultimately died from his addiction.
