    Keegan-Michael Key is an American writer, comedian and actor. He was born in Southfield, Michigan and was raised in Detroit by adopted parents. His father (Michael Key) was black and his mother was white (Patricia Walsh). Both of his parents were social workers. Key was a co-star of the Key and Peele Comedy Central series and co-starred in the Playing House comedy series. He also starred and directed in Keanu .

    Key was raised a Christian though he studied a little Buddhism and Hinduism. He admits that he is fascinated by the Hebraic culture among other spiritual thoughts across the board. He also says he is a spiritual person who doesn’t fear death. “I do not fear death, I am a spiritual person so, and I like to think of it as a transition”.

    He married Cynthia Blaise in December 1998 and filed a divorce from her on the 1 January, 2016. As of now he is still single.

    He is actually allergic to cats. He graduated from Shrine Catholic High School in 1989 and attended the University of Detroit Mercy for his undergraduate before earning his Masters of Fine Arts in theater at Pennsylvania State University. His half brother is Dwayne McDuffie who is a well known comic book writer.
