    Toby Keith Covel, popularly known as Toby Keith, is an American Country music songwriter, singer, producer and actor. Before leaving Mercury in 1998, all four of his albums earned gold or higher certification. As an actor, Keith was in the Broken Bridges, a feature film written by Jeff Gottesfeld and Cherrie Bennett. He also wrote and starred the Beer for My Heroes movie released in 2008. Toby was born in Clinton, Oklahoma but he grew up in Moore, Oklahoma.

    Toby is currently a registered independent. He use to be a more conservative Democrat before leaving the party. In 2004 Keith said he was a conservative Democrat who at times was embarrassed of his party. He voted for George W. Bush in 2004 and even endorsed him. In April 2008 Keith was very impressed with Obama and though that he was the best Democrat since Bill Clinton’s era. However, during an interview with CMT, he said he left the Democratic Party to register as an Independent. He is also a fan of Sarah Palin who is a Republican.

    Keith breeds thoroughbred racehorses and says racing is his hobby. He has between 300-500 horses in Oklahoma and Kentucky. He is also the owner of Dream Walking Farms. He also loves watching Wrestling.
