    Tom Cruise and His Religion

Cruise is a practicing Scientologist since 1990 and it’s fair to say he is the highest profile member of the Church of Scientology. Tom has been a strong advocate for the church, going as far as to say Scientology helped him overcome his dyslexia.

Throughout the years Cruise has had difficult moments balancing his personal beliefs with his public role under a spotlight.

For example, Cruise made comments in 2004 and 2005 stating his belief that psychiatry “should be outlawed”. He also drew controversy for being critical of actress Brooke Shields taking anti-depressant drugs post-pregnancy. This led to an infamous incident on the Today show with interviewer Matt Lauer got into a heated debate with Tom about these and related subjects.

As Scientology has been under an increasingly critical examining glass throughout the 2010s, Tom Cruise has managed to navigate these choppy waters and still remain a wildly loved celebrity. He continues to be a positive speaker for the religion.

    Political Views

Tom Cruise leans liberal but doesn’t vocally state his political affiliation. Over the years Tom has made large contributions to the Democratic Party and to a lesser extent the Republican Party. He also carefully dodges questions from the press about hot potato political subjects, like the presidency of Donald Trump.

Based on our observations of what Cruise hasn’t said when presentled with the opportunity, we feel that Tom looks at things from a humanitarianism aspect instead of a political one.

    What’s his Horoscope?

Tom Cruise was born on July 3rd, 1962 and is a Cancer. Tom has natural traits of being emotional, intuitive, loving, and imaginative. However, Cancers are also born with negative traits of being moody, overemotional, touchy, and unable to let go.

Cancers are also known for nurturing others, but they can be iron-willed and demand their way. They will also seek revenge against people that hurt them. This does seem to make sense with Tom’s aggressive defense of his religion and those critical of Scientology.

    What are his Hobbies?

Tom Cruise enjoys flying his World War II P-51 Mustang fighter plane that he has “Kiss Me Kate” written on the side of. He started flying after his role in the movie Top Gun and has now purchased several military aircraft.

Tom also loves fast cars. His love for racing landed him behind the wheel of stock cars, and he also starred and produced the movie Days of Thunder about the car racing circuit.

Tom’s other adrenaline junkie endeavors include scuba diving, skydiving, mountain climbing and fencing. He has a room specifically built into his house for this where he battles fellow celebrity friends Will Smith and David Beckham.

Tom is also an admitted fan of cooking.

    Who is Tom Dating?

Tom Cruise has been married three times. His first wedding was with actress Mimi Rogers in 1987. They divorced in 1990.

In 1990 Tom fell in love with Australian actress Nicole Kidman. The couple had been working on Days of Thunder together. By December of that same year they had wed.

In the 1990s Kidman and Cruise were Hollywood’s power couple. They worked together for three years shooting director Stanley Kubrick’s final movie, Eyes Wide Shut (released in 1999).

Sadly, by the turn of the century the Cruise-Kidman marriage was crumbling. Tom filed for divorce from Nicole in February 2001. While they are now ex-partners, the duo still remain parents to the two children that they adopted during their marriage, Isabella and Connor.

In 2005 Tom began dating another actress, Katie Holmes. They have a daughter named Suri, born in April 2006. Katie and Tom married later that year.

The Holmes-Cruise marriage lasted until 2012 when the couple filed for divorce. There are rumors that one of the major factors in the divorce was Katie not wanting the couple’s daughter to be raised as a Scientologist.

    Workout Routine

Tom Cruise stays fit through a lot of cardio including jogging, hiking, and playing tennis. He also does a lot of ab work with exercises like planks, crunches, reverse crunches, high leg raises, and hanging leg raises.

For a man approaching his mid-fifties, Tom is in exceptional physical shape. He continues to do major stuntwork on his movies, such as clinging to the side of a plane in the fifth Mission: Impossible movie.

    Belief on Gay Rights

Officially there is nothing to report of Tom Cruise opposing or supporting gay rights or gay marriage. Unconfirmed rumors have floated in taboids for years that Cruise is said to be homophobic on sets, or that the actor is secretly gay himself and in the closet.

It is a fact that Tom Cruise has threatened to sue people who have made claims that he is gay. In several instances Cruise has won the case. That said, we couldn’t find one instance on record where the actor had made a negative or controversial public comment about homosexuality, gay marriage or the LGBTQ community.

    Famous Tom Cruise Quote

“Some people, well, if they don’t like Scientology, well, then, fuck you. Really. Fuck you. Period.”- Tom Cruise

    Trivia

Tom’s father was verbally abusive to his family. When he was still in his early teens, Tom’s mother left her husband and moved the children away.

Tom attended 15 different schools in a 12 year period including schools in Canada. It was at one of these Canadian schools that Tom entered a school play and got his first taste of acting.

Before he has thoughts of pursuing a career as an actor, a 14-year-old Tom gave thought to becoming a priest.
